Tales of July 2024
No word of a lie, it is cold as I write this.
To make matters worse, a dear friend of mine is on the most fabulous holiday in Europe, and while I sat on the sidelines of kids’ football yesterday in the rain, Summer felt a long way away.
Today I pressed send on my first submissions of my current work in progress. It is the first time I have ever sent anything out for the scrutiny of actual professionals, and although I am extremely proud of the accomplishment of completing it, I felt a little ill and then I cried.
No idea if that is normal or not. I have read and reread the manuscript so often that I was worried that I was no longer adding anything to it. I’ve looked at it so many times that sometimes I hate it and sometimes I’m convinced it is wonderful.
Either way, it is out in the world now for the judgement of others. I will almost certainly have the rest of the week off and then start on something new.
Here are some other things I’ve been doing this month:
I’m watching:
The Olympics – Go the Aussies
I’m reading:
Beach Read – Emily Henry
I’m wearing:
I’m obsessed with a brown woollen trench coat I bought this year. I love it and it goes with everything and I can endure an endless winter just to wear it as often as possible.
I went:
To the Hunter Valley, for the wedding of two of the most beautiful humans on earth. My brother and new sister in law, do everything with grace and a little bit of magic. It was gorgeous!!
